IFLUWR Store
Masks, balls and merch!
Our humble little webstore…
As well as supplying you with cutting edge rugby memes, we also want to supply you with some quality rugby essentials for a fair price!
The proceeds of this will help support paying for the software subscription for the underwater rugby calendar, and continuous upkeep of both the world map and the calendar.
But unfortunately you can’t actually order and pay here… For that, just send us a message on our instagram account or via whatsapp (+46 70 217 eight - three - seven - five).
For payment, we can take a direct bank transfer, Wise.com, or Swish/Vipps (for those of you from the Nordics).
1. Aqualung Versa Masks (€30 - 35)
These are the Aqualung Versa masks, also known as Aqualung Vita in some markets.
Like the popular Aqualung Sphera mask that has been used in UWR for many years, these also have a curved-plastic lens which offer incredible peripheral vision. No one will be able to sneak up on you undetected again!
One major advantage this has over the Sphera is that the lenses on the Versa will not fall out of the mask - a problem that many Sphera users experience. I have personally used the same Versa mask now for over 2 years, and it has not failed me. I originally switched to this from the Sphera because I was sick of replacing it 2-3 times a year.
The second major advantage is that the Versa is only about half the price of the Sphera!
(One thing to pay attention to though is that because the lens is plastic on both the Sphera and the Versa, you need to protect them against being scratched by other things in your rugby bag.)
*But is it allowed to use a single lens mask in underwater rugby?*
This is a very common question we get. This is understandable because a mono-glass lens could of course be dangerous if it shatters. But the Versa uses a polycarbonate plastic lens, which is a lot more resilient than glass and cannot shatter and pose a danger in the same way.
International chief referee Manuel Tito de Morais published the following clarification on Facebook (March 15, 2023):
”The International UWR referee community has been asked to clarify if the Aqua Lung Versa mask would be allowed in UWR.
This mask has a mono lens (not a dual lens) which could make it fragile if a fixed strap is used.
For now we don't see any issue with this mask so it means it would conform to the UWR Rules (which in this case are the same as for UWH) and be allowed to be used in UWR. If we later see an issue with it we would then revise the decision accordingly.”
Since then, athletes have used this mask at tournaments all over the world without any issues.
2. Original UWR Balls - unfilled (€30)
We ordered hundreds of rugby balls from the original supplier in Germany (Achim Blumentritt) so that you can avoid having to buy them in bulk and waiting weeks before they arrive! We are happy to sell you one rugby ball or 5 or 10!
Shipping is €5 to most places around the world.
Unfortunately we do not usually sell rugby balls filled because shipping costs would be very high. Although we do sometimes offer to sell filled rugby balls when we go to tournaments in Sweden in Denmark (such as Felix and Amager Cup). If you do really want filled balls, feel free to send us a message and we can definitely discuss it!
*Why should you have a pet rugby ball at home?*
Every kid who plays basketball has a basketball at home. Every kid who plays football has a football at home. Even our arch nemesis, waterpolo players, have their own waterpolo balls! So why shouldn’t underwater rugby players have underwater rugby balls at home too??
I’m a strong believer that most rugby players in general need to continuously train their grip strength with a ball at home (e.g. while watching netflix!), so that they can handle the ball with confidence in the water. This is especially important if you have smaller hands compared to other team mates, or if you’re a junior or female player in a mixed club that often only uses a large sized ball.
3. IFLUWR Patches (€3.5) *cork for scale*
Will having a sick IFLUWR badge make you a better player? Absolutely not… It is completely unnecessary and useless at the same time - but in a kinda cool shameless way!!
Shipping unfortunately costs €3.5 (Swedish Post doesn’t let me send anything for less than that amount…) so either buy a whole bunch for you and your friends or get them together when you order a mask or some balls!
These patches are made from Colombia with love by Arturo Obregon, a UWR player who owns an awesome printmaking business - check them out!
